Farleigh Bespoke Gate

BespokeFarleighGate

The Farleigh bespoke gate is a stunning hardwood driveway gate with an attractive open design. However, with a superior 66mm section size the gate still provides some security.

This quality made-to-measure gate is created using modern technology as well as traditional joinery skills. The gate has strong mortice & tenon construction and a planed finish. Additionally, the Farleigh has a heavy-duty bottom rail as standard. In order to extend the life of the gate water runoff features are incorporated into the design. These features encourage the water to run off as well as impede water ingress. The gates are also supplied and treated with two coats of preservative. All gates must be treated with a Modern UV wood oil prior to installation. Made in Britain, the Farleigh driveway gate is manufactured using ethically sourced hardwood.

  • Wood type: Iroko hardwood
  • Finish: Supplied untreated ready for treatment
  • Widths: Up to 8′ (2.44m) per gate.
  • Heights: Up to 8′ (2.44m) per gate.

Hot weather & wooden gates

Wooden gates are a natural product responding to the conditions that they are in, especially heat and humidity. In hot weather, wooden gates can twist especially if one side of the gate receives more sunlight than the other. Wood is a hygroscopic material, which means it naturally absorbs and gives off water to balance out with its surrounding environment. Twisting is likely to be caused by one side drying out more quickly than the other. It is also quite common for small splits (shakes & checks) to occur during drying. This is nature at work and should NOT be considered a fault. This is not normally detrimental to the gate's stability & structure and should rectify as temperatures cool.
